I didn’t intend on buying any more nail polish, but let’s be real…… I’m an addict. Haha! During my lunch break, I went to Duane Reade on 42nd Street and 8th Avenue because they have the entire upstairs section devoted to beauty. As soon as I walked in, I saw the OPI display with many of the James Bond colors. Goldeneye caught my eye, and I figured it would be perfect for today’s manicure. Along with that, I picked up Seche Vite fast dry top coat, Sally Hansen Triple Strong Base Coat, Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover, and a design kit from Fingrs that has studs and gold leaf in it.

Specifically for today’s manicure I also used a black striping polish that I bought in a random discount store in the city. As well as stones that I bought on Amazon and in the Fashion District of NYC.

I used 2 coats of OPI’s Goldeneye as a base for the design. When researching luck, I found that gold is a lucky color, as people carry around golden coins for good luck. It is the perfect gold color in my eyes. I love the full coverage glitter effect.

I decided to dig deeper into history to look for luck symbols. I found that ancient Egyptians used the Scarab as a symbol of luck, so that is the focal point of my manicure today. I also added the Eye of Horus because it symbolizes protection, royal power, and good health.

I completed the look by accenting the rest of my fingers with these cool iridescent black rhinestones. I bought a pack of about 100 for just $2. Score! I love the fashion district.
